MR Performance Horses offers breaking & training of Thoroughbred Racing Prospects. Taking in yearlings & two year olds breaking them for sales or the race track.
Our rate is $30/day for breaking & training. It includes alfalfa, high quality grain, stall, turnout, and training!
Mandy Mascroft shown in the video to the left. She is breezing a two year old Thoroughbred Filly by SunRiver during the OBS Spring Sale. The filly worked an eighth of a mile in 10 and 3/5 seconds.

WITH LIME
2009 Thoroughbred Filly sired by WITH DISTINCTION that was in for breaking, training, and galloping. This filly has a great stride and wants to be a race horse. We had her broke in the round pen, then riding around the field and galloping around the little track. She was super broke and shipped to aTraining Track at then end of July.
Update from Trainer: 1st day at the track she acted like she had been there all her life!
1st time galloping with company and she was great!
1st breeze 8/27 - went a 1/4 in 23 2/5 & galloped out in 37
2nd breeze 9/9 - went a 1/4 in 22 galloped out in 35
3rd breeze 9/17 - went 3/8 in 37 & galloped out in 49

Two colts that i broke while working at Glen Hill Farm are BANNED & EXTENSIVE. Here they are shown running against each other in the Del Mar Derby. A very close race with a 1st & 3rd place finish!
Breaking & Training
Breaking ~ At MR Performance Horses located in Ocala, Florida we offer professional breaking & training for your horses. We are dedicated to starting colts slowly from the ground up building a nice foundation that they will have for the rest of their careers. From trail riding, breaking race horses, pleasure, team penning, to barrel racing.... No matter what discipline you ride, you always need the building blocks of a foundation. Mandy & Rex like their colts to have soft mouths, good minds, and be able to use respond to their riders with weight movement and the slightest cues. Rate for colt starting is $650.00 This rate includes stall, shavings, turn out, high quality grain, alfalfa and alfalfa/timothy mix hay, and training. Our training fee is due when the horse comes in and is expected to be paid in full. Any entry, hauling, stall, farrier fees etc will be billed at the end of the month.
Training ~ at MR Performance Horses we take in horses that need additional training, schooling, finishing, and tune ups. We have taken in several older horses that have needed refreshing and working on the basics for their owners. We do not do a lot of arena riding, but like to keep our horses fresh and happy. We like to ride in the fields, teach horses to open gates, pony other horses, and take them out to work cattle, but at the same time we will work them on the barrels when needed. A happy horse will learn so much more and come along a lot farther with a fresh willing mind. The training rate is the same as the breaking and colt starting rate~ $650.00 The 2011 rate for hauling to shows, races, arenas, practice pens locally is $5. If there is a different show, jackpot, or somewhere you would like your horse to go, we will bill for that as well by the mile.

Barrel Racing & Campaigning
MR Performance Horses specializes in barrel racing training. Here in Central Florida we offer training from start to finish for your barrel horses & barrel prospects. As much as we love to train horses, barrel racing is for teams consisting of the horse and rider. We work with the horses and then add the client, striving to get them working together as one. We keep the barrel racing horses fit and fresh, working them at the house mentally and physically schooling and training when needed, and not more. Horses are very fragile, and we work very hard making sure to always add something to a horses training, an not take it away. There is a fine line between doing too much with a horse and not enough. With years of experience training horses we have a good grasp on horses, their minds, and keeping them happy! Rate for Barrel Training/Campaigning is $650.00. Hauling to local practice pens, arenas and shows is $5 per hauling, please specify how much you would like your horse hauled. Entries, exhibitions, arena fees, stalls, etc will be billed to the owners at the end of the month.

Breeding
If you are wanting to get your backyard horse, show horse, or barrel racing horse bred..... Here at MR Performance Horses we offer all your breeding needs. Vet checked daily if needed, hauling to breeding sheds, artificial insemination of cooled & frozen semen, embryo transfers and more!

Foaling
No experience? Don't want the hassle? Out of town? Problem mare? Maiden mare? No worries. Foaling out 100's of mares over the past few years with great results. Mares are watched round the clock. Large foaling stalls. Night watch on duty every night, Oxygen & Medicine on hand. We welcome all breeds to foal out except miniature horses and drafts. There is a day rate for the mare, and a rate for the mare and baby. Seasonal. Call for more details.
Stallion Station
A full stallion station offered. Standing studs seasonally and boarding year round. Collecting, evaluation, shipping and freezing semen. If your stud does not breed enough mares to be standing here for the season, we do stand outside stallions. Call in advance and you can collect your stud to ship or inseminate here. We stand a lot of outside stallions such as: JRs Missin Gun, Gunners Indian, previously was Firewaters Fast Cash, and more.

- We encourage the owners of their horses to come and get lessons while your horse is in training. Its always a good idea to get a few lessons while your horses is with us, to give you the best shot of understanding our training program. Sales Preparation & Sale Consignment
Sales Preparation- Have a horse you want to send to a sale but don't have the time to get him cleaned up and prepped? We offer Sales Prepping for Thoroughbred weanling & yearling sales, as well as barrel, cow, & performance horses.
Sale Consignment- MR Performance Horses has been very successful with taking in horses on Sales Consignment. We offer the same to our sales horses that we do the horses in for training. Stall, turnout, great hay, our high qulaity grain and training. Hauling the horse to arenas & shows if applicable. Rate is the same as a training horse plus a 10-15% commission.

Previously stood at stud: Firewaters Fast Cash
Firewaters Fast Cash- Known as "Cash" was available for breeding before he was sold & gelded. He was a gorgeous sorrel stallion with a power packed pedigree. He was by a son of the legendary Firewater Flit and out of a Dash For Cash and double bred Easy Jet mare. Cash was a proven horse himself.

Purchased as a yearling, MR Performance Horses broke, trained & campaigned Cash, getting him geared for the futurity season. This was their FIRST horse to break and train aiming strictly at the Futurities. Firewaters Fast Cash is a very nice horse! He won $3,500 his Futurity Year with just LOCAL HAULING and then $3,000 the first six months of his Derby Year before being sold. He has the best mind you could ask for and is a super athlete. He went on to win and place at some really nice shows against the best horses his Futurity year. Coming back stronger and more mature his five year old year, bringing on a whole new horse!

Mandy and Rex are too busy in Ocala, Florida training horses and trying to get their business going..... to promote Cash and take him to the next level of competition so he was sent to good friend, Layna Kight.
CASH was gelded in late August to be hauled and seasoned with Layna. Layna & Hoby have run him at a few jackpots in Texas and he is clocking with the best of them!
Cash has been getting seasoned for the rodeos seeing parts of Nebraska, Colorado, South Dakota, Washington, Wyoming and everywhere in between! He was seasoned for the rodeos easily, and handled the rodeo life like he was born for it. Clocking with some of the best horses, he won the 2D his first run in Texas with Hoby and then equaled an arena record his next trip out!! Cash was sold to Paula Moore of Texas within a month.
